PEG LEGS

Technical questions about Jitsu, like which side you land on for a left hand sided breakfall - or even which one is your left hand!

PEG LEGS

Postby Martin on Wed Nov 23, 2005 2:31 pm

Ok After a VERY painful session yesterday I was wondering wether anyone has any tips for us newbies (especially the blokes) when peg legging 5 out of 6 times a garlic press action occured and was ever so slightly painfull.

I know I have to land on the ball of my foot but however I just dont get it doest stop me from getting back up and doing the other side tho.

Dunno maybe I just like pain, but hey at least I don't have to Give Birth  oh the advantages of being male.

Try to control your top leg, and get the ball of your foot on the floor, it stops the nut cracker action -- 5 times - most of us only do it once!

Peglegs

Postby Hamish on Fri Feb 23, 2007 4:35 pm

On the same technique, does anyone have any advise on getting up faster? I keep finding my arm gets tangled underneath when doing normal peglegs. But also Im sure there must be a way to use momentum to help get up afterwards, rather like a judo roll. Any opinons?

I have that same problem but I'm not sure there is a way to fix it other than just remembering to collect your arm before you try and get up! later on they teach you advanced peg legs (green/ purple I can't remember when I learned them!) and then you no longer have the arm problem :D
